LG Electronics has something to be proud of. Just recently, the LG60 Series 1080p LCD TV was named the “official high definition television of the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.” In addition to this title, LG is also sponsoring the “Encounters” series at the festival, which is a group of 11 narrative and 10 documentary films that will be shown during the event.

In response to this honor, LB will be installing at least seven dozen of its television sets in the movie theaters at the festival. Along with the televisions, the company will also be providing high definition disc players. The televisions and disc players will also be used in the box offices as well as in special event locations.

The Tirbeca Film Festival, which will be running from April 23 through May 4, displays the work of international filmmakers and other industry representatives from all over the world. Those in attendance will be able to watch independent movies that are exclusively being shown at the Festival – all of which will be displayed on LG60 Series televisions.

“The Tribeca Film Festival brings together world class actors and filmmakers in an urban environment unrivaled by other film festivals. Our sponsorship of the festival illustrates our focus on providing new, stylish ways of enjoying today’s artistic films without missing a single detail,” stated Tim Alessi who is the consumer electronics marketing director at the US division LG Electronics. “LG’s LCDs blend this glamorous appeal with cutting-edge picture and sound quality to deliver a rich cinematic experience away from the crowds and in the comfort of your own home.”
