Toshiba Launches New Televisions in Japanese Market

Toshiba has expanded its LCD television offerings in Japan, which means they will likely be reaching the US a few months of so after they are launched in Japan.

The new televisions will be part of the REGZA series and include the ZH500, the ZV500, the RH 500 and the CV500. The 52ZH500 will be a 52 inch television while the 46ZH500 will be a 46 inch television. Both of these models will include an integrated 300GB hard-drive PVR. In addition, they will offer four HDMI (1080/60p, 24p) inputs, 120 Hz VA panels, three Ethernet slots (with DLNA support), Bluetooth capabilities, two USB ports, Firewire and an SD slot.

The ZV500 series will include the 46 inch 46ZV500 and the 42 inche 42ZV500 televisions, both of which will offer USB and LAN connections. The CV500 and RH500 series will both include 32 inch, 37 inch, and 42 inch televisions. The 37 inch and 42 inch televisions will offer 1920 x 1080 pixel HD resolution and the 32 inch televisions will have a resolution of 1080i. The CV500 series, however, will not feature an HDD while the RH500 series will.

The Japanese market can expect the ZH500 series to become available in May, while the ZV500 televisions will arrive in mid-June. The 32 inch version of the CV500 series will become available this month, while the remaining won’t be available until May. The market will have to wait until June or July to get its hands on the RH500 series televisions.
