Samsung has made an exciting announcement: the company has created the first Plasma HDTV to offer a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio In addition to the amazing contrast ratio, the television is 3D ready, which means you will e able to watch 3D movies or play 3D video games with the television, so long as you have the special glasses needed for 3D viewing.

The 50 inch television, which is called the PAW Cannes 450 Plasma HDTV, is able to achieve such a high contrast ratio because it utilizes its new Cell Light Control as well as its Digital Natural Image engine + (DNIe+). This image engine is able to remove external noise while improving the contrast ratio and the colors that are displayed in the image.

Perhaps one of the coolest aspects of this television is the fact that it will come complete with a pair of 3D glasses as well as PC software to help you watch videos and play games in 3D.

The new television was actually displayed at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, but it had previously been announced that the television would be released in Korea. Now, the company is saying that the television will become available in the United States later this year. It will certainly be interesting to see how well this television works and how consumers respond to the new idea.
