A Sneak Peak at the New LG Television Models
February 11, 2008 – 2:22 pm,LG has announced that it will be offering 24 new models of LCD televisions as well as eight new plasma TVs. Of the 24 LCD televisions on the lineup, 17 of them will be Full HD. In addition, six of the eight plasma televisions will have 1080p.
The LG71 series, which is the upper end of the LG models, will also incorporate the new 120Hz technology. You won’t find it listed under this name on the series’ vital stats, however, because LG calls this technology “TruMotion.” The LG71 series will also offer 802.11n wireless connectivity and will be capable of supporting HDMI-CED. This ability is referred to as SimpleLink by LG.
If you don’t need the top-of-the-line model, you might want to check out the LG70 series. This series provides all of the same benefits as the LG71 series, but you won’t have the wireless connectivity offered with the LG71.
Four other series have also been announced by LG. These include the LG60, the LG50, the LG40, and the LG30. As might be expected, the bells and whistles offered with each series are reduced as you go further down the line.
When it comes to the plasma TVs, you will find the PG20, PG30, PG60 and the PG70 series on store shelves. The PG70 series is set up to be able to support wireless connectivity with an add on module in the future, a feature that LG is referring to as being “wireless ready.” The PG70, as well as the PG30 and the PG60, all offer 1080p resolution while the PG20 offers 720p.
