The LaserTV from Mitsubishi
February 5, 2008 – 12:38 pm,As promised, I am going to start discussing some of the items that were found at the CES program. One of the exciting items that was unveiled at the show was the LaserTV from Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi hopes that this new design will help to improve the level of color reproduction while also reducing the amount of power needed to run the device.
“Today’s HDTVs display less than 40% of the color spectrum that the eye can see,” says a Mitsubishi representative. “Now, for the first time ever, laser produces twice the color. Laser beams provide the widest range of rich, complex colors, along with the most clarity and depth of field.”
These new TVs also use up less power than other types of flat panel televisions that are of the same size. At the same time, the laserTV can be wall-mounted just like an LCD or plasma television.
Mitsubishi plans to start shipping these new TVs out later this year. So, if you want to get your hands on one, keep your eyes peeled. I haven’t heard a solid price tag for these new gadgets, but I am sure it won’t be cheap!
