Belkin Introduces the Flywire
January 30, 2008 – 12:32 pm,If you have decided to purchase a flat panel HDTV, you might be considering hanging it on your wall. While hanging a flat panel HDTV on your wall looks great and can really save space, one problem you will have to deal with is finding a way to deal with all of the wires. After all, a TV on the wall won’t look so great if you have a bunch of cords and wires hanging everywhere! In order to help with this problem, Belkin has developed the Flywire. While the Flywire isn’t yet available, it is on display at Macworld where you can check it out and learn more about it until its release.
In essence, the Flywire is capable of wirelessly streaming high-def content. The transmitter that does the streaming can be located anywhere in a room and set up to work with any receiver you desire. That way, you can actually hide the receiver behind your flat panel display.
This new transmitter is able to accommodate both HD and non-HD devices and can handl up to six video inputs. With a signal of up to 100 feet, you can get a lot of use from the transmitter throughout your home.
The Flywire is capable of transmitting uncompressed 1080p signals, so you will have no problem hooking up all of your gadgets. In fact, it supports Blu-ray, TiVo HD, cable boxes, HD-DVD players, and regular DVD players. With the help of Flywire, you can get rid of all of these wires and have a clean, attractive display for your television.
Switching between gadgets is easy. Just as with a universal remote, you can switch between inputs with the remote control that is included with the Flywire.
The Flywire is set to be launched this summer. Currently, the price is set to be somewhere between $500 and $600.
