JVC Offering HDTV Televisions with iPod Docks
January 19, 2008 – 6:44 pm,JVC has recently announced that it will be launching a new line of LCD HDTVs that come complete with built-in iPod docks, which will be located in the base of the set. For those of you that love to listen to your music as much as you like watching high definition tv, these new televisions are worth looking into.
The new line of televisions was unveiled by JVC at the Consumer Electronics Show that took place last week. Since the iPod dock is integrated into the set, you will actually be able to playback your tunes through the speakers of the television. When an iPod is docked in the TV, a menu is displayed on the television screen. The song title and the name of the artist are also displayed on the screen. This menu allows you to select either video or music playback and the iPod can be completely controlled with the same remote used with the television.
If you love the circular keypad found on your iPod, you will be happy to know that the remote control that comes with the television includes a control wheel that is similar to what is found on the iPod. In addition, the iPod gets charged while in the dock even if the television is turned off.
Currently, the plan is to offer three 1080p models as well as one 768p video. The 1080p models will be available in 42”, 47”, and 52” while the 768p video will be available in 32” only.
If you are interested in one of these sets, you are going to have to wait a little before you can purchase one. The 32” and 42” sets will not be in stores until sometime in March. You will have to wait even longer for the 47” set, which won’t be available until April. The 52” set, on the other hand, won’t be on the market until sometimes this summer.
